Recess Records to Celebrate 25th Anniversary in San Diego

On Friday August 8th, Til-Two Club in San Diego will be on fire while hosting a stop on the Recess Records 25th Anniversary Tour. Recess Records, owned by Todd Congelliere has released tons of legendary punk records in their 25-year reign.

Initially started as a label to release 7” records of his at the time band, FYP, Congelliere’s Recess Records went on to become one of the longest running punk labels in the country while still completely operating as a DIY entity, meaning all of their records and tours were released and booked with no corporate distribution or sponsorship. Recess Records over the years have released records from many punk bands including The Dwarves, The Crumbs, The Criminals, Propagandhi, Japanther, Off With Their Heads and many more. Congelliere went on to also play in band Toys That Kill.

Recess Records has organized a tour to celebrate the label’s history by taking a handful of bands from the label’s roster and have them hit the road with a tour kick-off show right here in San Diego and Til-Two Club. The show features Swing Ding Amigos with their first appearance in San Diego in over 10 years.

The show also features Blank Pages (from Germany), Treasure Fleet (featuring members of Smoking Popes from Chicago), Swing Ding Amigos (First San Diego show in 10 years), Lenguas Largas (Tucson) and the Underground Railroad to Candyland (Members of FYP, Toys That Kill).

Recess Records 25th Anniversary Tour kick off is going off Friday August 8th at Til-Two Club located at 4746 El Cajon Blvd. Show is 21 and up and starts at 8PM. Tickets are only $8.
