FOOD TRUCK FOR DOGS TO BEGIN ROLLING THROUGH PAWS-ITIVELY PET FRIENDLY SAN DIEGO

Fido to go to make debut on Saturday, August 9 at the 9th Annual Dog Days of Summer Canine Festival and Contest at Cardiff by the Sea

SAN DIEGO, CA, July 30, 2014
Fido to go, San Diego’s premier gourmutt food truck, soon will begin rolling through the city’s streets and dog parks. Serving hand-crafted, gluten and allergen-free canine cookies and doggy ice creams/frozen yogurts, Fido to go is about to become the most barked about sensation among the city’s canine culture.

“We’re already hearing from owners and pets alike, all of whom are very excited about our great-tasting—and healthy—treats,” said Steffany August, Fido to go Owner. “Our furry four-legged customer base has been drooling over the upcoming launch of the truck and we couldn’t be more excited.”

Prior to launching the Fido to go San Diego truck, Ms. August served in law enforcement. Her love of dogs and the opportunity to meet pet owners around the city inspired her to create this convenient venue for purchasing pet treats.

The launch of Fido to go San Diego marks the company’s first expansion into another state. Making its debut at the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago’s “Bark In the Park” in the spring of 2011, Fido to go—the brainchild of founder Donna Santucci—is the nation’s first doggie treat truck of its kind, visiting parks, festivals and neighborhoods throughout Chicago and now in San Diego. In addition to its gluten-free treats, Fido to go will feature a wide selection of products made from natural, organic and USA-sourced ingredients, specially formulated Fi-Yo™ doggie frozen yogurts, and custom-made cakes and cookies.

“Expanding into San Diego makes all the sense in the world,” said Santucci. “With its dog-friendly hotels, animal-friendly beaches and parks, Fido to go is guaranteed to liven up the street scene in this wonderful city.”

According to freelance pub correspondents Abby and Suki, Fido to go knows what dogs want. “I’ve sampled several of the products and particularly enjoyed the peanut butter maple cookies,” reported Abby. “The absence of additives and sugars, a real no-no, makes these treats especially appealing. Woof.”

Tentative stop locations include: Fiesta Island Dog Beach, Liberty Station, and dog parks including Balboa, Morley Field, Grape Street, and Nate’s Point.
