The Del Mar Racetrack Serves Up Craft Beer With The Offspring
Beer connoisseurs can sample dozens of local San Diego brews next weekend at Del Mar’s Craft Beer Festival and enjoy a free concert by The Offspring
DEL MAR, Calif. — Next weekend Del Mar will be known as where the turf meets the suds during the track’s San Diego Craft Beer Feston July 25, where more than100 different craft beers from over 40 local breweries will be available to sample. The drinks will not be the only thing that’s cool; The Offspring will take the Seaside Stage the same day shortly after the last race.
- Harrah’s Friday Concert Series with The Wailers – Friday, July 24, the fun continues after the last race with a free concert by world-famous reggae band The Wailers. The concert will start following the final race of the day, approximately scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Concert is 18 and up.
- San Diego Craft Beer Fest – Saturday, July 25, dozens of San Diego’s top breweries available on site to offer sample craft beer tastings at the tracks Craft Beer Festival. Starting at 1 p.m., five, 7oz. tastings will be available for $20, and admission to the Beer Fest area is FREE with paid racetrack admission. There will also be several gourmet food truck offerings to pair with beer tastings.
- The Summer Concert Series with The Offspring – Saturday, July 25, the entertainment carries on after the last race with a free concert by one of SoCal’s hottest punk-rock bands The Offspring. All concerts are 18 and up and are free with racetrack admission.
- Daybreak at Del Mar – Saturday, July 25, and Sunday, July 26, early risers will be able to enjoy Daybreak at Del Mar from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m., where visitors can view morning workouts, dine in the open-air restaurant and learn behind the scenes information from Jeff Bloom, former jockey and event announcer. Breakfast features hot breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, fruit and more.
Racing at Del Mar happens Wednesdays through Sundays, July 16-September 7, with post time for the first race on most days at 2 p.m. On Fridays first post is shifted to 4 p.m. For more information, call 858-755-1141 or visit www.delmarscene.com.
